Burmese children in exile who live in India often have limited access to schools due to financial or legal reasons and therefore are unable to receive adequate education. Education serves a crucial role in raising the next generation to establish a civil society and democracy in Burma.

SDA Burmese school offers classes from kindergarden to 8th grade in one of the neighborhoods of New Delhi where many Burmese families reside. The SDA school has been growing since its establishment in 2002 and for the coming 2013 - 2014 academic year, it hopes to enroll 100 to 150 children.
