During a general health awareness campaign in 2013, SHED noticed that many women suffer from health problems related to early marriage, pregnancies without access to medical care or even basic health awareness, gynecological difficulties or undernourishment of mothers and their babies. SHED has therefore decided to focus their activities in 2014 on the area of women's health. SHED plans to raise awareness by translating awareness materials into the local language and conducting outreach in the remote mountanous areas along the Indo-Burmese border.
Two informational posters will be translated into a local language and accompanied by illustrations. Then, outreach will be conducted directly reaching at least 200 hundred families in the state of Mizoram (India) and in Chin state (Burma).
