According to the UN Development Program, the Chin state is the least developed region of Burma/Myanmar. Among many other sectors, the transportation and communication systems are quite inadequate, hindering many areas of daily life. Activists from remote areas have extremely difficult access to information, very limited opportunities for exchange of experiences and often feel alone in their efforts on behalf of their local communities.

In March 2014, BCP organized a workshop for Chin organizations. As a result of this workshop, one of the organizations - the Siyin-Chin Youth Network Organization - decided to take on the task of networking the participants and developing ways of sharing resources on key topics.

SCYNO will develop 5 DVDs with the focus on 1. Human Rights; 2. Child Rights; 3. Women's Rights; 4. Democracy; and 5. Technology/Social Media. These resource DVDs will be specifically tailored to the needs and experiences of the organizations in Chin state and will use resource persons and case examples from the Chin state. Along with the resource DVDs, SCYNO will also take the lead to share information through social media to bridge the difficulties in face-to-face communication with the remote areas, taking advantage of the newly developing internet accessibility via mobile networks.
